Our Story

Firm established as A.P. Anderson in Wanganui, across the road from Aramoho Cemetery (which
opened later) A.P. (Andrew Peter) Anderson, and his nephew P.L. (Percy) Anderson as his assistant.
W.H. (Bill) Anderson worked for A.P.A. for a couple of years, starting after Percy was killed in action during WWI.

L.P. (Les) Anderson (A.P.A’s son) joined the business as an apprentice.
The New Zealand Master Monumental Masons’ Association (NZMMMA) was founded, Les Anderson elected to the first executive committee.

S.P. (Peter) Anderson (A.P.A’s grandson) joined the business.
Death of A.P.A.
Daryl Anderson (A.P.A’s great-grandson) joined the business as an apprentice.

Anderson Memorials of Wanganui purchased the Hawera premises (corner of Collins and High Streets, Hawera) from Kevin McDonald. Daryl Anderson appointed manager.
Death of Les Anderson.

Daryl Anderson opened a business in New Plymouth called Everlasting Memories.

Anderson Memorials business reorganised, Peter Anderson retired, and Daryl Anderson became the sole owner of Anderson Monumentalists in Hawera, along with Everlasting Memories in New Plymouth.
Daryl Anderson elected president of the NZMMMA.
Current foreman and head of production, Greg, employed by Daryl as letter cutter, sandblaster and cutter/polisher of granite.
Current head engraver and artist, Justin, employed by Daryl initially as installer.
Death of Peter Anderson.

Anderson Memorials in Hawera and Everlasting Memories in New Plymouth changed trading names, to become Headstone Warehouse Ltd.

Headstone Warehouse purchased the assets and premises of Parkin & Co., moving the New Plymouth branch to Coronation Avenue, where it stands today.

Headstone Warehouse head office in Hawera built a storage warehouse away for storage of stock, with sales, engraving and admin remaining in High Street.

Owners Daryl & Rose Anderson sold the business to retire, purchased by Shaun & Kelly Judkins.
